Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our dedicated and people-centred People Partnering Team as a Deputy People Partner. This busy and varied role offers a high degree of independence, where you'll use your professional judgement to uphold good employment practice and support managers and staff across a wide range of people matters, including early stage resolution, casework and organisational change.

We have a full time role available, with flexible working and job share considered. The role offers hybrid working, combining home working with attendance at the office and other Trust sites, and applicants must be able to travel across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Main duties of the job

This job is varied, and no two days will be the same so your ability to manage multiple priorities and independently manage your work will be crucial. You could be supporting managers with organisational change or complex employee relations issues, reviewing workforce metrics, developing policies, or representing HR at formal hearings. You will act as a role model within the People Partnering team and across the Trust, demonstrating our values at all times. You must have:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and NHS terms and conditions, supported by a Level 5 CIPD qualification (or equivalent), CIPD membership and ongoing CPD.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases, advising on organisational change, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance matters, TUPE and supporting workforce planning, with the ability to design and deliver HR training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to build effective relationships and supervise support staff.

Person Specification

Experience (Essential)

  • Significant recent experience of generalist operational HR issues within the NHS or Public Sector Organisations to include: Advising on terms and conditions, Application of policies and procedures, Employee relations, Skill mix, Working in a unionised environment with evidence of successful partnership working, Change management, Managing difficult HR issues involving sickness/capability/dismissal/TUPE, CAJE / job evaluation, Supporting investigations, Delivering training

Additional Criteria (Essential)

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Level 5 CIPD Qualified as a minimum or holds a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, plus have additional knowledge and experience to Post Graduate Diploma level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of CIPD Membership
  • Evidence of on-going CPD
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
