Clinical Support Officer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Clinical Support Officer to provide non-clinical administrative support to the Community Nursing team. This fixed-term, part-time role requires IT proficiency, office experience, and a valid UK driving licence.
Main duties of the job
- Booking visits and changing addresses
- Submitting Loan Equipment forms
- Stock control of equipment and consumables
- Patient phone calls
- Dropping off/collecting items from patients' homes
- Chasing medication requests with prescribers
- Printing, photocopying, making up packs for clinicians
- Dealing with telephone enquiries/referrals
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Managing complex clinical information per Caldicott guidelines
- Booking appointments for patients
- Liaising with other professionals
- Discharging patients from IT systems after treatment
- Using electronic systems for record-keeping and database management
- Managing incoming information and passing to relevant practitioner

Qualifications
Essential:
- Competent IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel
- Excellent numeracy and literacy
Desirable:
- ECDL or similar
Experience
Essential:
- Previous general office experience
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information
Desirable:
- Previous secretarial support experience
- Previous meeting management experience
Skills
Essential:
- Ability to take minutes
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a car
- Ability to work independently using own initiative
- Accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge
Essential:
- Knowledge of office administration and equipment
- Microsoft packages including diary management
- Understanding of patient needs and NHS
- Awareness of Health & Safety relevant to role
- Understanding of Information Governance
