Junior Clinical Fellow (F1) in Trauma and Orthopaedics

Job Summary

The post holder will have opportunities to further their surgical knowledge through clinics, operating lists (elective and emergency), ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings and formal teaching. Encouraged to participate in audits, presentations and teachings. This post is not recognised for training but the appointee will be encouraged in their training and development.

Person Specification

• Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council
• Advanced Life Support Certificate or equivalent
• Engagement with clinical governance and error identification
• Situational awareness and good decision making
• Evidence of leading on patient safety issues
• Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues
• Ability to teach clinical skills (desirable)
• Experience in organising educational activities (desirable)
• Recognition and ability to manage an acutely ill patient
• Experience of working in Trauma and Orthopaedics
• Demonstrate aptitude for practical skills
• Demonstrable interest in orthopaedics

Salary and Contract

Salary: £38,831 a year pa pro rata. Contract: Fixed term for 4 months. Full-time.
