We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed prison located in Derby. HMP Foston Hall is a closed women's prison with a capacity for 335 inmates. We are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to support teams within areas such as Early Days in Custody and Unscheduled Care.

Hours: Long days - 0730 - 2000 Monday - Sunday on a rota basis, 1 weekend in 4. No nights currently however this may be reintroduced in the future.

Salary: This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum.

Main Duties

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care.
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications Required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
