Job Summary
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate Family and Systemic Psychotherapist within the Early Intervention Service (EIS). This is an exciting opportunity to develop your therapeutic skills, working in a supportive group of clinical psychologists, CBT psychotherapists and family therapists. You will be required to deliver evidence-based family therapy and family interventions to our service users and families, as identified in the National guidelines. Indirect work includes facilitating multi-disciplinary reflective practice groups and team formulation sessions, supervision, systemic consultation, running teaching & training, and audit/research, as well as opportunities for community and outreach development work.
Main Duties of the Job
- To provide a qualified specialist family and systemic therapy service to service users of the Early Intervention Service (EIS) and At Risk Mental State (ARMS) pathway.
- To provide specialist systemic assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on service users' psychological care to psychologist/therapist colleagues, non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.
- To receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice.
- To provide clinical supervision to trainee(s) or other professionals.
- To assist and advise the Senior Operational Manager and Senior Psychology colleagues in evaluating clear, achievable and measurable objectives.
- To take sole professional responsibility and exercise autonomous professional and clinical judgement within the overall framework of Trust and UKCP policies/guidelines/standards.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

Person Specification
Knowledge
Essential: Psychological Therapies, Knowledge of theory and practice of specific psychological work with complex issues. Desirable: Research methods.
Skills
Essential: Psychological intervention, assessment, consultation, High level communication skills.
Qualifications
Essential: Professional qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy. Desirable: Additional short courses.
Experience
Essential: Experience of specialist systemic assessment and treatment of service users across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings; Experience of working with young people. Desirable: Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts.
