FULL DESCRIPTION
Electronic Engineer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer for their design team based in Haverthwaite, near Ulverston, Cumbria. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on developing cutting-edge underwater acoustic technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating with team members to develop electronic circuitry and embedded systems.
- Designing and testing electrical schematics and circuit boards, constructing prototypes, and diagnosing problems.
- Working with and developing embedded systems.
- Assisting in developing technical content for other departments, suppliers, and customers.
- Occasionally participating in customer support, training, and demonstrations.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant qualification and previous experience in electronics engineering.
- Theoretical knowledge or experience with analogue circuitry, signal conditioning, ADC, digital logic, power supplies.
- Proficiency in developing schematics and PCB designs with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer).
- Experience with embedded microprocessors (PIC, AVR, ARM) and firmware development in C or C++.
- Creative, analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, time-management, and teamwork skills.
- Competence in standard office software (Microsoft 365/Office).
Desirable Skills
- Communication protocols (RS232/485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB).
- High-speed digital design (FPGA, memories, clock buffers).
- Design for reduced electromagnetic interference.
