Role Overview

We are seeking a Production and Flow Logistics Lead to support the effective manufacturing flow within the workshop, ensuring parts are available in a timely manner to achieve the manufacturing plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive hands-on approach spending 50% of time on shop floor encouraging a pull/push system.
  • Supervise a small, dedicated team to achieve role specific actions.
  • Ensure databases and updates are real-time so production schedule represents reality.
  • Manage availability and maintenance of appropriate packaging for safe transportation.
  • Ensure parts are fully trackable within manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure efficient Material/Parts flow through manufacturing in line with schedule.
  • Maintain effective logistical applications to safely transport materials.
  • Adherence to Quality systems, Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments.

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in similar manufacturing environment using MRP systems and scheduling tools.
  • Forward planning and forecasting essential.
  • Proven team supervisory experience.
  • Collaborative approach to achieve Customer first objectives.
  • Qualified to A level or completed formal apprenticeship in manufacturing.

Desirable

  • Experience in complex busy manufacturing site.
  • Knowledge and experience within Gear manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean principles.
