The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will lead a technical team delivering high quality products and services for the iLearn platform across the full software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a cross functional engineering team delivering features and improvements for the iLearn product.
- Provide line management and pastoral care for a small team of software engineers.
- Take technical ownership of full stack applications and services.
- Contribute to planning, estimation, scheduling, and resourcing.
- Communicate technical designs to senior stakeholders.
- Apply modern software design patterns and best practices.
- Champion automated testing.
- Work with platform, product, and operations teams.
- Design and develop cloud deployable services.
- Act as technical authority, lead design discussions, review code.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Promote strong engineering culture.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers.
- Support recruitment and onboarding.
- Maintain technical documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in software engineering.
- Strong experience as a Senior or Lead Full Stack Software Engineer.
- Proven experience leading engineers and delivering software end to end.
- Deep understanding of modern software design patterns.
- Hands on experience with cloud based architectures.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience building scalable, resilient, secure systems.
- Commitment to code quality and testing.
- Confident code reviewer and technical decision maker.
- Ability to mentor engineers.
- Strong communication skills.
