Linesman Erector - LE

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is currently looking for Linesmen Erectors. As a Linesman Erector you will be playing a pivotal role within a dynamic team. You will be working closely with your Chargehand to ensure that your gang performs strongly and meets the three key elements of our Mission Statement; Safety, Quality and Productivity.

Location: Various locations across the United Kingdom. Preferred: Preston.

Requirements

  • Work as part of a team to ensure safe, effective repair, maintenance and installation of overhead power lines.
  • Maintain a very high standard of work from start to finish.
  • Be mindful of productivity and timescales meeting client targets.
  • Maintain high housekeeping across site and welfare facilities.
  • Operate various items of plant appropriate to the OHL industry.
  • Engage with site operatives to build healthy working relationships.
  • Follow instructions from Supervisors and Client Engineers.
  • Overcome simple rigging and mechanical problems within Work Instructions.
  • Undertake daily pre-use inspections on PPE and fall arrest equipment.
  • Confidently carry out tower rescue procedures when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, repair and maintenance of overhead power lines.
  • Adhering to Permit to Work and Limited Access Certificate documents.
  • Ensure correct tools, equipment and PPE to complete duties.
  • Record defects of PPE or fall arrest equipment to Supervisors.
  • Play active part in tool box talks and on-site assessments.
  • Report all potential hazards immediately to Supervisor.
  • Report work-related personal injury using the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] H&S App.
  • Report any unsafe tasks or lack of training to Supervisor.
  • Use the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] H&S App to report kudos, hazards and defective equipment.
  • Training and supervising new less-experienced members.
