About the role

Operations Services department provides processing support for the front line business units handling trade finance, loan and cash management products. The department also includes the Operations Resilience and Operation Control teams which are responsible for overseeing the Bank’s resilience programme and managing user rights for certain systems. As a Vice President - COO Business Management, you will be responsible for the coordination of activities across the COO department and functions. You will work closely with the COO in identifying, analysing, planning, coordinating and executing cross-departmental initiatives in relation to operational efficiencies, streamlining of processes and operational excellence. This is a full time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for execution of COO strategic priorities that require Bank-wide coordination and close follow up
  • Develop Business Plans for transformation initiatives
  • Coordinate cross-departmental controls and actions to ensure consistent execution
  • Streamline processes, product and services capabilities
  • Identify, analyse, promote and execute automation initiatives
  • Ensure Business priorities are promptly addressed
  • Create a network with Group and other key [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] offices
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasting and strategic plans
  • Ensure group policy and regulatory requirements are adhered to
  • Take charge of complex and infrequent products processes or problems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Executive Management Committee (EMC) and other departments within the Bank
  • Produce monthly reports and statistics
  • Assist other departments in the branch/subsidiary with their operations issues
  • Support development of operational systems and controls
  • Oversee relevant projects and assignments as determined by EMC or Head Office

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance, Economics or relevant subjects
  • Relevant professional qualification
  • Significant experience within Financial Services Industry and proven track record in similar department/business stream
  • Extensive knowledge of the operational procedures relating to wholesale and retail banking in the UK
  • Budgeting and financial planning capability
  • Project Management background is highly desirable
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent staff management skills and ability to train and develop staff
  • Results-driven with a customer-focused and good service ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
