If you’re ready to make a real impact across a large, purpose‑driven organisation, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
Why this role matters
As a key member of our People team, you'll use your expertise in employment law, dispute resolution and case management to shape how our leaders support and develop their teams. You’ll partner with leaders, acting as a trusted adviser—helping them to navigate sensitive issues with confidence, fairness and consistency. You’ll bring a solution‑focused mindset and play a vital role in fostering a culture built on trust, restorative practice, and empowerment.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing expert advice on a wide range of complex ER cases—grievances, disciplinaries, capability, conflict, attendance and organisational change.
- Coaching and equipping leaders to manage people issues confidently, legally and in line with best practice.
- Embedding restorative practice and alternative dispute resolution techniques to strengthen relationships and reduce formal processes.
- Working collaboratively with the People & Comms teams to deliver a seamless, professional service.
- Creating and updating ER guidance, policies, templates and toolkits.
- Tracking and managing cases proactively to minimise risk and drive meaningful outcomes.
- Contributing to the People strategy, policy development and process improvement.
What you'll bring to the role
- CIPD Level 7 and Chartered CIPD status (or equivalent experience).
- Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
- Experience in workplace mediation or restorative justice approaches (ACAS mediation or similar qualification desirable).
- Demonstrable ability to manage complex cases with autonomy, sound judgement and commercial awareness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
- Confident IT skills across Microsoft 365 and case management/CRM systems.
- The ability to balance empathy with pragmatism, always striving for fair, sustainable and timely outcomes.
What you’ll impact
This role offers true autonomy, scope to shape our ER offering, and the opportunity to help our leaders grow. You’ll play a crucial part in reducing organisational risk, strengthening our culture, and ensuring colleagues feel supported, valued and treated fairly. This is a hybrid role enabling you to base yourself from home if you wish. Travel will be required across our region to enable you to meet with the teams you support and spend time with the wider People Team. You will therefore need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
