Credit Controller

How Will I Make a Difference?

We are looking for a key member to join a small Finance department, leading the Credit Control function to ensure customer receipts are in line with targets, aged debt is within acceptable levels, management reports are issued timely, and customer and internal queries are resolved. This is a hands-on role managing over 3,000 customer accounts.

What Will I Be Doing?

A key member of the Finance department ensuring customer receipts are received in line with targets, aged debt is within acceptable levels, and queries are resolved timely. The role requires a balance of explaining our services and pro-actively chasing payment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, a team player, and willing to manage their own portfolio of accounts. Support towards a relevant credit control qualification is offered.

What Skills Do I Need?

  • Desirable: 2+ years’ experience in credit control or finance
  • Relevant: 2+ years’ experience in customer service or administration

  • Natural enthusiasm to chase debts and work to targets
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Quick learner able to follow processes
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks
  • At least 5 grade A-C GCSEs including English and Maths
  • Good working knowledge of Office applications (Excel, Outlook, CRM)
  • Understanding of finance transactions and processes
  • Accurate and confident working with numbers
