Senior Application Support and Cloud Operations Engineer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Senior Application Support and Cloud Operations Engineer for the Managed Application Cloud Expertise (MAC) team. This hybrid role offers global opportunities, flexible work, and professional development.

About the Role

The MAC team provides 2nd level application and infrastructure support, ensuring application availability meets SLA targets. Key responsibilities include handling trouble tickets, system administration on Windows servers, executing changes, participating in UAT testing, and working in DevOps mode for cloud applications.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Ensure applications’ availability to meet the SLA target
  • Handle, diagnose and route in real-time incoming trouble tickets
  • Provide system administration for applications on Windows servers
  • Execute changes and task orders on Windows server
  • Responsible for 2nd level technical support and escalation
  • Communicate planned/unplanned outages to end users
  • Participate in UAT testing for bugs/new features
  • Working in DevOps mode for cloud-hosted applications including understanding functionality, L2 support for cloud infrastructure, and L2 application support

Functional Responsibilities

  • Manage known issues related to application or infrastructure support
  • Collaborate within the team
  • Coordinate with development teams for updates, patches, deployments
  • Contribute to automation initiatives
  • Maintain documentation on configurations, infrastructure, troubleshooting
  • Engage in continuous learning
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives

Due to the variety of supported applications, basic knowledge in one or more of: Operating system administration & scripting (Windows, Linux); Database administration (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres); Web Services (SOAP, REST); Development (Python, Java, ASP.NET, node.js, C#, PHP, react.js); Big Data platforms (Hadoop, MongoDB); Microsoft Azure Fundamentals & Administrator; VMware Cloud Fundamentals; Continuous delivery tools (Kubernetes, Ansible); Security protocols; Agile and DevOps; Network protocols (CCNA a plus); ITIL foundation knowledge (certificate a plus).

Educational Background

  • B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in French is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within IT
