About the Role
As a key member of the Service Assurance unit in the Digital Technology organization, the Platform Engineering Lead specializes in strategizing, defining & maintaining engineering practices in Service Assurance (Monitoring & Observability). This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our services through innovative monitoring solutions, being a part of a talented team, and collaborating across functions to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- Adopt Best Engineering Practices: Ensure the team follows best engineering practices across all stages of the SDLC—requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance—fostering quality, security, and efficiency in all deliverables.
- Platform DevOps: Responsible for, promote and implement DevOps practices for monitoring platforms, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and continuous deployment to ensure rapid, reliable, and scalable platform updates.
- Design and Develop Monitoring Platforms: Working closely with the Service Assurance Platform Architect, own the design, development, and continuous improvement of scalable monitoring and observability solutions that provide real-time insights into platform health and performance.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Maintain high standards for platform security, compliance, and operational reliability. Implement best practices for incident management, monitoring, and alerting.
- Lead and Mentor Teams: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in delivery.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product owners, service teams, and other stakeholders to understand their monitoring needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Innovate and Improve: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance monitoring capabilities and observability maturity.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to strategic planning and initiatives that align monitoring and observability with organizational goals and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive experience in platform engineering, monitoring, observability, DevOps, and software engineering best practices.
- Deep knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) and cloud platforms.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to drive innovation and manage change effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
