Key Responsibilities

• Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits.
• Ensure mandatory vehicle checks are undertaken every time the vehicle is used.
• Ensure that all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly using necessary safety equipment.
• Ensure the vehicle has adequate fuel and is cleaned inside and out regularly.
• Remove and replace seating as required.
• Park the vehicle in the depot correctly.
• Operate the passenger lift and other equipment to assist passengers.
• Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative manner.
• Assist the Passenger Assistant with duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Sound understanding of working with individuals with disabilities.
• Able to deliver service with a patient and level-headed attitude.
• Hold a full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Hold a CPC qualification card with mandatory training up to date.
• Minimum of two years’ experience of driving a bus or coach.
• Hold or willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
• Willing to undertake and satisfy a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
• Hold a current and valid D4 medical examination report.
