About the Role
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a leading commercial landscaping company with over 35 years of experience. We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our established team who serves as the ultimate owner of their regional or project portfolio. They are directly responsible for the financial performance, operational delivery, quality, health & safety, people performance and customer satisfaction of all works within their assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance Leadership: Act as the ultimate custodian of Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with policies, RAMS and legislation.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle—ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and to exacting standards.
- Financial Accountability: Take full P&L responsibility for your region, proactively managing margins, labour costs, and cash flow.
- Commercial Strategy & Growth: Build enduring relationships with clients and contractors, partnering with the Commercial team to secure new orders.
- People & Performance: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Site Managers (approx. 8 people).
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in a Contract Manager, Site Manager, or Project Manager position within landscaping, construction, or related sector.
- Experience leading teams across multiple sites or projects.
- Solid technical background in landscaping.
- Understanding of commercial processes including variations, valuations, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Full UK driving licence and legal right to live and work in the UK (essential).
- Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS) desirable.
- Relevant landscaping/construction qualification desirable.
- CSCS card (desirable, can assist).
