Production Shift Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is recruiting a Production Shift Manager for a food manufacturing client in Lancashire. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary of £45,000 – £50,000 per year, working Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm (on-site).

  • Location: Lancashire
  • Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per year
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm

About the Role

You’ll be leading the 2-10 operation across 3 production lines, with a team of around 40 off-season, rising to 75 at peak. The structure is in place and the agency is well managed, so the focus here is on building consistency, supporting the Team Leaders, and getting stronger performance across the shift. The business itself is in a good place – up 10% year-on-year, financially stable, and investing in automation over the next 12 months. There’s a clear opportunity here to establish yourself as a key part of the team and grow into the number two and eventual successor for the Factory Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage H&S and Food Safety standards across the shift
  • Improve line efficiency and reduce labour and material costs
  • Deal with performance issues where needed
  • Report directly to the Factory Manager (no customer-facing element)

Requirements

  • Experience leading teams in a production environment (food manufacturing ideal but not essential)
  • Ability to manage performance and work with numbers behind labour, waste, and output
  • Suitable for existing Shift Managers or strong Supervisors/Team Leaders ready to step up

Application Process

The process is straightforward: an initial conversation focused on your experience across people, H&S, Food Safety and performance, followed by a site visit to meet the wider team. Apply now for this Production Shift Manager job.
