Public Relations Representative – Yorkshire & Humberside

Status: 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week)
Salary: £12.74 – £13.94 per hour

The Role

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] requires an enthusiastic, hardworking, and reliable PR Rep for Yorkshire and Humberside. The successful candidate will support the PR team to raise awareness about [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], its campaigns and events by developing relations with local masaajid, community organisations, businesses, donors, and the general community. They will also help fundraise and maintain the Yorkshire & Humberside PR office.

Main Duties

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Muslim community institutions (including masjids)
  • Organise and participate in masjids collections for Ramadan and throughout the year
  • Distribute appeal leaflets and display posters at masjids, community venues, businesses, and events
  • Initiate and plan PR and fundraising events with regional fundraising team
  • Set up and supervise [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] stalls at events and exhibitions
  • Assist PR team in fundraising administrative duties
  • Recruit, develop, and support local volunteers
  • Work closely with and help coordinate the fundraising team and volunteers during events
  • Represent the charity at events, presentations, and meetings including public speaking
  • Maintain close working relationship with Yorkshire & Humberside Regional PR Manager
  • Carry out any other duties as required

Person Specification

Qualifications (Desirable): Educated to A' Level or NVQ Level 3; Classically trained in Islamic Studies or demonstrable equivalent.
Experience (Essential): Work under time pressures; Public speaking.
Skills/Abilities (Essential): Teamwork with attention to detail; Time management and communication; Planning own work and others; Lead and motivate volunteers.
Knowledge (Desirable): Urdu, Bangla, and/or Arabic.
Other (Essential): Adherence to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] values; Ability to adapt working hours; Valid UK driving licence and own car.
Desirable: Residing in Yorkshire & Humberside area.
