Volunteer & Activity Coordinator

The role involves consulting with residents, managing volunteers and student placements, and securing funding. Job Introduction

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are currently recruiting for a permanent Volunteer and Activity Co-ordinator to join our established scheme based in the Calderdale area. The role is being offered on a part time basis (28 hours per week) with an annual salary of £21,125.00. You will be entitled to 6 weeks holiday, plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time colleagues) and full access to our Employee Assistance Programme.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for organising activities for the residents of the service. You will consult with the people we support to plan activities that support their goals and are relevant to their interests. You will also be responsible for the management of two student placements and five volunteers, who will support with the activities programme. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying relevant funding for the scheme and writing and submitting bids on behalf of the scheme. This may also include securing donations for the service.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Be empathetic and caring, showing understanding and respect to people experiencing difficult circumstances
  • Be confident in delivering workshops and activities, with excellent presentation skills and a certain flair that puts attendees at ease
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write convincingly, speak in an engaging manner, and build relationships
  • Be creative and curious, always thinking outside the box and bringing new ideas to the service
  • Be highly organised, with the ability to organise activities in advance and encourage attendance
