Job Description

The Role: Retail Core Banking Solution Architect

Location: Milton Keynes, UK

Position Type: Contract Inside IR35

Remote work option Available: Hybrid (2-3 Days onsite in a week)

Required Skills: Payments, Cards, Mortgage and Lending

Essential Skills

  • Solution Architecture and Design Significant experience as a Solution Architect, ideally within complex financial services environments
  • Domain knowledge in Retail Banking products e.g. - Unsecured loans Personal Accounts – banking & savings and Bonds (fixed term deposits)
  • Business Segmentation – Retail, business banking, private
  • Onboarding processes for Personal account
  • Core Banking products (customers, accounts, pricing, transactions, etc) and related services essential to the operations of a bank Domain driven design, with working knowledge of the BIAN framework, TOGAF, ArchiMate
  • Proven experience in defining & documenting As-Is & Target Architecture, working with stakeholders to help define & deliver strategic objectives & roadmaps, being embedded into the functional domain, balancing business requirements with functional & technical.

Strategy Experience

  • Defining and evolving RESTful APIs following best practices for scalability, versioning and documentation
  • Experience with event-driven architectures
  • Ability to produce clear functional architecture, design logical components and define interactions between systems, whilst delivering decommissioning and archival initiatives
  • Experience balancing business outcomes with long term architecture strategies
  • Experience in working with engineering teams to align technical designs with the published architecture.
  • Peer review designs produced by other team members, ensuring architectural integrity and compliance with standards.
  • Experience in creating practical, workable architectures that can be aligned to IT principles/standards, whilst following the bank’s architecture governance processes.
