Learning Disabilities – Nights Support Worker
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a dedicated Night Support Worker for Wellingtonia Children's Home in Telford. This role involves supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs during night shifts (9pm-9am). The position offers a salary up to £29,863.60, a £1,000 joining bonus, enhanced overtime rates, and a supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring a safe, secure and calm environment, with a clear focus on safeguarding and welfare throughout the night
- Completing regular checks and monitoring wellbeing
- Supporting young people who may wake or require reassurance
- Responding calmly to any incidents or needs during the night
- Completing accurate records and reports
- Contributing to clear and effective handovers to ensure a smooth and consistent transition between day and night
- Supporting a settled start and finish to each day for young people
- Monitoring care plans and recording observations
- Working collaboratively with the wider care team
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children or young people
- A calm, reliable and self-directed approach
- Ability to remain composed in challenging situations
- Strong sense of responsibility and safeguarding awareness
- Full UK driving licence – desirable
- A genuine commitment to high-quality care and positive outcomes
