You can help tailor this post to your skills & interests - please contact: Dr Gambino to discuss this exciting role & the opportunities available for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

This job spans 2 main teams - mostly involved with the acute hospital major trauma team & secondarily with the prosthetics service. Professional support comes from the Rehabilitation Medicine colleagues: 1 consultant to be mostly based at UHP with cross cover on the planned activities & 2 consultants based at Mount Gould Community Hospital.

The consultant job plans are based on a 7.5/2.5 DCC:SPA ratio. There are additional opportunities in medical education & the rehab medicine services already provided (outpatients, spasticity etc).

On call is a service requirement of this job.

Your peer support will be in our community physicians & rehab medicine group unified by the care of people, outside the acute hospital, limited by frailty, neurological or severe illness. We are proud to be a group of doctors with a mix of specialty backgrounds, working patterns & interests. You will, however, also be part of the networks of physicians & surgeons working with our shared client group.

Our community group has close relationships to other teams such as adult psychiatry, community therapy, crisis response & long term condition nurses. We all use one electronic record system which is also shared with many local GP surgeries. This makes joined up care a reality.
