About the Role

To lead and improve the day‑to‑day delivery of people services, systems and data across the business, through the leadership of multi‑disciplinary teams. The role ensures people administration and employee relations services work well for colleagues and managers, while building reliable, well‑run systems and data that support insight, efficiency and a better overall colleague experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary People Services teams, driving a high-performance, accountable service culture
  • Oversee end-to-end People operations across the colleague lifecycle, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience
  • Manage HR administration and employee relations, acting as an escalation point for complex, risk-sensitive cases
  • Own HR systems strategy and governance, ensuring HRIS integrity and end-to-end lifecycle management
  • Drive transformation of people systems, improving functionality, data quality and reporting capability
  • Deliver people insights through dashboards and reporting to inform business decisions
  • Lead continuous improvement, automation and standardisation of people processes using technology and AI
  • Set and track SLAs, KPIs and service standards to enhance performance and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies and data protection requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally (People, Finance, IT) to align services, systems and data with business priorities
  • Lead process improvement, documentation and systems capability development across the team
  • Occasional travel to depots and office locations will be required.

About You

  • Strong experience leading People Services / HR operations in a structured, SLA-driven environment
  • Proven track record in HR systems transformation, optimisation and data governance
  • Skilled in people analytics, translating data into actionable insight
  • Experience driving automation, system improvements and use of emerging tech (including AI)
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary HR teams
  • Strong employee relations and employment law knowledge
  • Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Resilient problem-solver with ability to deliver scalable, practical solutions
