Produce Buyer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Ltd is seeking a proactive and highly organised Produce Buyer to join the procurement department. This role is central to the procurement of fresh produce, raw materials, and packaging within a fast-paced FMCG environment. Salary: £36k to £41k per year. Closing date: Thursday 30th April at 5:00pm.

The Role

People

  • Work collaboratively within the Procurement, Sales, Technical and Operations departments to deliver the daily plan and sustainable supply chain continuity for the business and all other agreed goals.

  • Build, maintain and nurture relationships with Primary, Secondary and new suppliers and transport companies.

Planet

  • Promote and represent the sustainable [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] brand with suppliers through the Gold Standard.
  • Manage Seasonal changeovers and plan annual grow plans for imported and local produce.

Prosperity

  • Efficient daily monitoring of stock levels to meet customer demands whilst adhering to residency times.
  • Check and sign-off supplier payments, handle non-conformance claims.
  • Take ownership for financial performance of product lines, negotiating pricing structures.
  • Work with Operations to reduce waste and increase efficiencies.
  • Plan and co-ordinate transport collection and delivery through external hauliers.
