Line Leader

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Ltd is seeking to recruit a Line Leader to join our production team within our fast-growing FMCG family business. The successful candidate will lead production activities within the Packhouse to ensure products meet customer specifications while achieving maximum efficiency. The person will work within our 3 pillars of People, Planet and Prosperity. Salary: £14.87ph. Closing Date: Tuesday 28th April 2026 at 5.00pm.

The Role

People
As a key part of the Operations Team, you will work collaboratively with operatives on the line to deliver the right results.

  • Lead and Develop: Lead, motivate, and train a diverse workforce on the production line to ensure staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Shift Managers to ensure product specifications are met and downtime is minimized.
  • Communicate: Deliver clear instructions regarding quality specs, safety protocols, and daily targets to the line team.
  • Safety Culture: Supervise and implement Health and Safety and Food Safety legislation within the processing environment.

Planet

  • Audit Readiness: Maintain the production area to an exceptional standard, ensuring it is ‘audit ready’ at all times.
  • Waste Reduction: Follow the ‘Clean As You Go’ policy and strive to eliminate waste by reducing product giveaway and packaging errors.
  • Resource Management: Ensure all line machinery and packing equipment are managed effectively to prevent energy and material waste.

Prosperity

  • Efficiency & Lean: Endorse and support ‘Two Second Lean’ processes to identify areas for cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • KPI Accountability: Take responsibility for the production line’s KPIs, striving for continuous improvement in output, accuracy, and quality.
  • Resource Planning: Work with management to plan and control staffing levels on designated lines to meet operational needs.
  • Record Keeping: Complete both written and computerized production records accurately to ensure full traceability.

The Person

  • Experience: Proven experience in a high-volume food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Problem Solving: The ability to make real-time decisions regarding line blockages or quality issues under pressure.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Flexibility: Adaptability to support business needs, including working shifts and/or weekends as per the rota.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
