Salary: £28,500 per year

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

The Role

The successful candidate will work within our 3 pillars of People, Planet and Prosperity.

People

  • Work collaboratively within the Procurement and Supply Chain team to ensure the effective sourcing and supply of goods into the business.
  • Build Strong working relationships with colleagues across Sales, Technical, and Operations to support business needs and ensure a joined-up approach.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with growers, suppliers, and transport partners, acting as a professional and reliable point of contact.
  • Take responsibility for personal development, actively seeking opportunities to learn and grow within the procurement function.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to Senior Buyers, assisting with sourcing, negotiation, and overall procurement tasks to ensure business continuity.
  • Utilise the ERP system to accurately generate Purchase Orders (POs) and produce essential purchase reports.

Planet

  • Support the Company’s sustainability goals by working with suppliers to identify and promote responsible sourcing and supply practices.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of supplier and market data to identify trends that contribute to sustainable and ethical procurement decisions.
  • Contribute to reducing waste and maximising efficiency in goods-inward transport and supply chain planning.
  • Engage in projects that drive environmental responsibility, supporting the wider company strategy on sustainability and circular economy initiatives.

Prosperity

  • Support procurement planning and forecasting to ensure the business has the right products, at the right time, at the right cost.
  • Assist in the presentation, issue, and follow-up of accurate purchase orders, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and timelines.
  • Carry out supplier and market data analysis, providing insight that inform commercial decisions and highlight opportunities or risks.
  • Work alongside senior colleagues in supplier negotiations, contributing to cost effective procurement while protecting business margins.
  • Monitor supplier performance, highlighting and escalating issues where necessary to protect continuity of supply and product quality.
  • Support transport planning and management for goods inward, ensuring supply chain efficiency and timely deliveries.

Qualifications/Experience

Essential

  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Eagerness to learn and develop in a buying role
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well within a team

Desirable

  • Degree level qualification
  • Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise resource planning)
  • Experience with FMCG
