Account Executive

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales success and managing key accounts to support our vision of being a leader in the field of fresh quality produce.

The Role

People

  • Work collaboratively within the Sales & Marketing department to deliver continued sales success for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].

  • Represent [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and your department in all colleague and customer interactions:
    • Deliver effective and transparent communication, where colleagues and customers are well informed and are aware of any changes that impact production and supply.
    • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing customers.
    • Attend events and exhibitions throughout the UK & Ireland raising awareness of the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] brand.
  • Assume full responsibility for day-to-day management of agreed accounts.
  • Ensure customer needs and objectives are delivered in a timely and efficient manner to promote a high level of customer service.

Planet

  • Promote and represent the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] brand within a variety of sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Pro-actively identify suitable commercial opportunities and convert these into new strategic partnerships
  • Ensure that all customer feedback is managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Facilitate on-site visits from customers and become a key point of contact to develop a successful working relationship.
  • Manage Seasonal changeovers within your accounts to ensure a smooth transition for both [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and our customers.

Prosperity

  • To hit and exceed your sales forecast through the effective management of your accounts.
  • Develop and execute a robust business plan for each of your accounts that are in line with the business’s growth plans and strategy.
  • Actively manage all price files, promotions, category reviews, annual account plans and term negotiations.
  • Creation and analysis of sales / pricing reports for Head of Depts and customers.
  • Manage price negotiations with customers to ensure that the business continues to remain profitable and that [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s margin is protected.
  • Create a weighted pipeline of opportunities for both existing and new customers.
  • Analysis of Key Outstanding Orders and follow up with customers where relevant.
  • Feedback any business at risk through Month End Reports.
  • Attend and participate in cycle meetings and present your territories performance against plan.
  • Support the Head of Dept to build a long-term growth strategy and feed into the annual budget planning.

The Person

  • Previous experience in Key Account Management within the FMCG or Fresh Produce sector.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent relevant professional qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of margins, price negotiations, and strategic business planning.
  • Impactful communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • A problem-solver who is enthusiastic, committed, and possesses both humility and a strong professional will.
  • A full clean driving license is essential for travel to customer sites and exhibitions.
