Bank Senior Clinical Practitioner - OOH & Urgent Care Services

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Bank Senior Clinical Practitioner for Out of Hours and Urgent Care services across Greater Manchester. The role involves telephone triage, face-to-face assessment, diagnosis, and prescribing within professional boundaries. Based at multiple sites including Denton, Manchester city centre, and Oldham. Bank contract, part-time flexible hours, hourly rate £24.78 with enhancements.

Main Duties

  • Out of Hours Clinical Hub: Telephone triage for 111 patients, assess, manage, discharge or redirect.
  • City Health Centre Walk-in Service: Face-to-face triage, assessment, treatment of primary care presentations.
  • Oldham Urgent Care: Face-to-face assessment and management of primary care patients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions.
  • Clinically examine and assess patient needs from physiological, psychological, social perspective.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate management plans, ensure safe discharge/referral.
  • Demonstrate senior clinical decision making and critical nursing skills.
  • Provide self-management advice and education.
  • Manage own workload and work flexibly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and stakeholders.
  • Deliver quality service per NICE guidelines and evidence-based care.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing within competence (if qualified).
  • Leadership and staff development, act as role model.
  • Manage risk and ensure health and safety.
  • Use technology for planning and monitoring.
  • Undertake mentorship and assessor training.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: Registered RGN/HCP/GPhd/RPS, appropriate regulating body, clinical exam skills course and senior experience.
  • Desirable: Degree, Specialist Emergency Care Qualification, Non-Medical Prescriber.

Experience

  • Desirable: Experience in quality improvement, clinical exam skills, Primary Care/Urgent/Emergency Care, clinical supervision/assessor training.

Skills and Attributes

  • Essential: Autonomous practitioner, management of complex needs, excellent communication, negotiation, teamwork, change management, flexibility.
  • Desirable: Clinical leadership, teaching and mentorship.
