Senior Pensions Analyst Controls Review

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Senior Pensions Analyst for Controls Review to implement and deliver the Control Framework for Redhill Core & Large Communities, providing independent oversight and assurance across pension scheme administration activities. The role involves monthly internal control reviews, QA testing, scheme health checks, issue management, and reporting. Candidates should have strong UK pension scheme administration experience, quality assurance skills, and attention to detail.

The Role

  • Control Framework Delivery: Run and maintain the Control Framework activities across Redhill Core and Large administration teams. Conduct monthly internal control reviews and periodic deep-dive testing. Apply a risk-based and sample-based approach to reviews.
  • Monthly Control Reviews: Review completion and quality of monthly internal control checklists. Validate accuracy of attestations through evidence checks and independent testing. Ensure exceptions are documented with next steps.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) Testing: Perform independent QA testing on benefit calculations and administrative processes. Review adherence to scheme rules and automated calculations. Identify error trends and produce clear QA outputs with risk ratings.
  • Scheme Administration Health Checks: Support annual scheme health checks covering calculation automation, procedure manuals, and data quality. Carry out targeted deep-dives to validate attestations and identify control gaps.
  • Issue Management & Remediation: Liaise with team leaders and managers to agree remediation actions. Track progress and escalate persistent risks.
  • Reporting & Governance: Produce clear monthly reporting on control outcomes. Contribute to quarterly and annual governance reporting.
  • Documentation & Evidence Management: Maintain robust audit-ready evidence. Ensure documentation is stored in a central, access-controlled repository.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in UK pension scheme administration (DB and/or DC).
  • Detailed understanding of benefit calculations, scheme rules and administration processes.
  • Experience of quality assurance, peer review or control-based activities.
  • Ability to assess risk, identify issues and apply proportionate challenge.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Confidence in engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with or overseeing offshore administration teams.
  • Exposure to audit, compliance or risk management frameworks.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Awareness of current pensions regulatory expectations.
