Job Purpose

Over the last nearly 25 years, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s Green Teams have provided hundreds of unemployed Londoners with their first taste of work in grounds maintenance and horticulture. They are at the very heart of the delivery of several of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s employment programmes and our newest landscaping and sustainable urban drainage projects. Each of our Green Teams offer unemployed Londoners up to six months of paid work experience in teams led by our experienced staff. We are seeking a Green Skills Team Leader who will lead teams of up to four trainees, and oversee, and participate in, the delivery of our grounds maintenance, horticultural and landscaping contracts. Our work includes: domestic gardens for vulnerable residents; maintenance of public open space; historic gardens maintenance; improvements to community green spaces and allotments. You will liaise with our clients for these contracts and support the Green Team Programme Manager in the development of new contracts and relationships. And that our long-term unemployed trainees are offered the best opportunity to develop their skills and experience to enable them enter horticulture roles within Green and Open Space programmes and initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Strong track record of delivering gardening and grounds maintenance contracts.
  • Ability to lead a small team and put trainees at the heart of service delivery.
  • Ability to build and maintain great client relationships.
  • Appointment subject to Enhanced DBS check (involves working in schools).
