About the job

The Infectious Diseases & Vaccines (IDV) group is seeking a motivated and skilled Scientist to join our dynamic team in Cambridge. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team developing antibody-based therapies and evaluating new vaccines for bacterial, viral and parasitic infections of global importance. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience and expertise in flow cytometry and a strong foundation in immunology and/or molecular biology, ideally gained within an industrial or translationally focused academic environment.

Main responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to projects across the IDV portfolio
  • Process and analyse ex vivo derived biological samples
  • Plan, troubleshoot and execute flow cytometry-based assays, and prepare samples for single-cell sorting and sequencing
  • Assist in the preparation of Illumina sequencing libraries
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all experimental work
  • Present and communicate experimental results

About you

  • PhD or Master's degree in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrable laboratory experience in a biopharmaceutical or academic research setting
  • Practical experience with conventional and spectral flow cytometry (highly desirable)
  • Proven ability to maintain clear, accurate, and thorough records in laboratory notebooks and reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data confidently
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to collaborate effectively within a team environment
