FULL DESCRIPTION

Yard Foreperson

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Ltd is seeking a proactive Yard Foreperson to oversee yard, warehouse, and transport operations in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Location: Llanelli (SA15 2DS)

Salary: Depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate yard staff and drivers to maximise productivity.
  • Maintain safe, organised storage and stock presentation across the yard and warehouse.
  • Schedule and oversee customer deliveries, ensuring vehicles are used effectively.
  • Ensure all vehicles and forklifts are checked daily, maintained, and kept safe and presentable.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both trade and retail customers.
  • Oversee accurate picking, loading, and unloading of stock.
  • Contribute to stock management, accuracy, and rotation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, company procedures, and security.
  • Support and develop staff through training and appraisals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience in a builders’ merchant, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Customer-first approach with excellent communication.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety practices.
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to train) is an advantage.
  • Basic IT skills for stock and system checks.
