About the Job

Service: Hackney Children & Young People Mental Health Hub Pilot. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] supports people through change, challenge or crisis. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new DHSC funded project - Early Support Hubs - providing innovative ways to support Young People’s (11 – 25 years) Mental Health and Wellbeing across the borough of Hackney. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Counsellor to provide 1:1 and group counselling to young people.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide 1:1 counselling and early intervention mental health support to young people aged 11-25 years old alongside our team of dedicated youth workers.
  • To collaborate across a number of stakeholders in the London Borough of Hackney including other professionals operating as part of the HealthSpot pilot.
  • To have an active interest in working with young people affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact it has on their life.

Main Requirements

  • A minimum level 4 professional qualification in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy for working with Children and Young Adults.
  • Registration/Accreditation (or working towards) with a relevant professional body e.g. BACP/NCPS/UKCP.
  • Experience of counselling/professional work with children and young people who have experienced mental health issues.
  • Appointments are subject to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced (Child workforce/Child barred list).
