LifeSkills Support Worker (Teeside)

  • Location: Teesside (homebased with daily travel)
  • Hours: 18.5 – 37 per week (negotiable)
  • Salary: £25,221 - £27,780 FTE per annum + £480 HWA (pro-rata for part-time)
  • Contract Type: Permanent

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join the LifeSkills Plus team, providing intensive support to adults with complex needs using a strength-based approach. The role involves home visits and community work across Teesside, helping individuals build confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. The LifeSkills programme supports individuals and families, and the Support Worker will work closely with the linked LifeSkills Open programme.

Main Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload, delivering regular face-to-face support
  • Deliver interventions focusing on strengths, enabling individuals to feel empowered and face new challenges
  • Support activities that increase confidence, improve mental health, widen social networks, help with budgeting, and enable individuals to seek training, work or volunteering opportunities

Main Requirements

  • Experience of working in services that deliver positive outcomes for individuals and families
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to present and build relationships
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals to identify support needs and plan/monitor emotional and practical support
  • Satisfactory DBS disclosure (Enhanced with Children’s Barred List)
