We're on the lookout for ambitious individuals to join our Costs team as Trainee Legal Costs Draftsman & Negotiator. The successful candidate will draft and negotiate Legal Costs Schedules with the aim of ensuring maximum recovery of Legal Fees and Disbursements.

Responsibilities

  • Draft Schedules and Bills of Costs, to include Litigation Schedules such as Costs Budgets, Estimates and Statements of Costs for Trial/ Applications.
  • Support with the negotiation of Legal Costs and Disbursements.
  • Assist with costs litigation, to include Part 8 Proceedings, applications and detailed assessment proceedings.
  • Liaising with Legal Teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies including data confidentiality and the operational security of the Information Systems used.

  • Any ad hoc or additional duties as deemed fit and appropriate by the Management Team for this post and the associated level of responsibility attached to it.

Working Hours

This role is Full Time based on 40 Hours per week. The Working Pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, and standard working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm, with flexibility around start and finish times. The office is open between 7.00am and 7.00pm. We are also fully office based in Byker, Newcastle.
