Job Type: Contract (Temporary until 31 March 2025, Full-time 37 hours per week)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our Carlisle 0-19 Child and Family Support Service as a Child and Family Support Coordinator.

Main Responsibilities

  • Localised coordination and quality assurance of home based child and family support services, ensuring appropriate practical and emotional support is provided through home visiting, workshops, groups, and structured learning sessions.
  • Deputise for the Child & Family Support Service Manager in their absence and provide holiday cover for other Coordinators.
  • Hold a small caseload of complex cases (Level Three) and support delivery of targeted groups.
  • Offer reflective supervision and manage a team of Child and Family Workers, Child Play and Learning Workers, and Information, Advice and Admin Officers.
  • Support the Service Manager to develop workforce and sustain effective progress of the 0-19 Child and Family Support Service.

Main Requirements

  • Level 4 or above in a relevant qualification (community work, education, health, social work, counselling/family therapy, early years or equivalent).
  • At least two years’ leadership experience and staff management in a similar role, with case management oversight and outcome-focused supervision.
  • Extensive experience providing support to families, young people and children.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to a common vision and through change.
  • Good understanding of child development, parenting, mental health, disability, drug/alcohol use, domestic violence, gangs, county lines, CSE, FGM, poverty and their impact on families.
  • Access to a vehicle for business purposes and ability to travel across Carlisle.
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory Safer Recruitment checks including DBS check.
