Hours: 29.6 hours per week (part-time)
Salary: £32,425 - £35,211 FTE per annum inclusive of Inner London Weighting (£25,940 - £28,168.80 for part-time)
Contract type: Permanent

This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative service that supports two authorities in tackling childhood obesity and health inequalities, through a holistic health promotion and community-based approach. This role is a perfect fit for someone with experience in behaviour change, nutrition and physical activity.

We were delighted to be awarded delivery of a Change4Life service across Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster in 2020. Change4Life takes a holistic and community-based approach, improving and promoting the physical and emotional health & wellbeing of children and their families with a lasting impact.

You will join a dynamic service that takes a preventative and whole systems approach to tackling childhood obesity and health inequalities at a time when supporting disadvantaged members of our society is more essential than ever.

Summary of Job

The post holder will share and embrace Public Health Agenda and Outcomes as the model will focus on national and local public health priorities including oral health, healthy eating, emotional wellbeing and physical activity.

The Change4Life Service will:

  • Deliver an innovative service with a holistic approach to promoting health and wellbeing.
  • Align with other services that promote similar messages
  • Promote a whole systems approach to reduce health inequalities
  • Be responsive and flexible to changing local needs

To achieve the above in your role as Children’s Coordinator you will be required to:

  • Be committed to providing an integrated one-team approach to children, young people & their families with an aim to delivering effective services and interventions as part of the C4L offer.
  • Provide support for 5-11 age range and their families by delivering Change4Life Kids Clubs
  • Adopt a co-production approach to the establishment of the clubs.
  • Use solution focused approach and strength based approaches when working with families on a 1:1 basis to address individual needs and goals.
  • To evidence outcomes families achieve through use of evidence-based tools. Monitoring and reporting outcomes in line with contractual requirements.
  • Developing and sustaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders especially school staff and other delivery partners.

Your Skills

To achieve the above in your role as Children’s Coordinator you will be required to:

  • Be committed to providing an integrated one-team approach to children, young people & their families with an aim to delivering effective services and interventions as part of the C4L offer.
  • Ensure that the service is integrated, comprehensive and makes a difference to children and families served with clear focus on improving health outcomes.
  • Use solution focused and strength-based approaches when working with families on a 1:1 basis to address individual needs and goals.
  • To evidence outcomes families achieve through use of evidence-based tools. Monitoring and reporting outcomes in line with contractual requirements.
  • Developing and sustaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders and delivery partners.
