Service: Off Centre. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a forward-looking charity supporting people through change, challenge or crisis. Off Centre provides early access help for young people aged 16-25 with moderate to severe mental health problems. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Psychotherapist/Counsellor to join the team, delivering outcome-focused interventions that support resilience and recovery. The role is predominantly office-based at The Textile Building, Hackney, London E9, with the option for one remote day per week. All staff are required to work Wednesdays and one evening (up to 8pm) on Monday or Thursday.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out clinical and holistic initial assessments of service users’ needs, including risk and safeguarding, using tools such as CORE 10, PHQ 9, and GAD 7.
- Manage a caseload of service users receiving individual counselling/psychotherapy, applying specialist techniques and undertaking associated case management and administration.
- Co-facilitate the weekly Drop In on Thursday evenings.
- Maintain excellent records, adhering to confidentiality, information sharing, and safeguarding protocols.
- Liaise with external partners, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure service users’ views inform service development.
Main Requirements
- UK recognised Psychotherapy/Counselling qualification (MA desirable) with substantial post-qualifying clinical experience with young people/young adults with moderate to severe mental health issues.
- Accredited to a relevant professional body (BACP/UKCP/HCPC).
- Demonstrated continued professional development in areas such as DBT, Systemic, Mindfulness, and/or EMDR.
