Water Hygiene Technician

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group is hiring a Water Hygiene Technician for on-site facilities management. Full-time, hourly rate £14.61. Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (with travel to Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, North East).

Role Overview

Reporting to the Water Hygiene Supervisor, the Water Hygiene Technician will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the water hygiene program. Tasks include taking water samples, temperatures, cleaning and disinfecting systems. The role requires mobile working from customer sites across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. Company vehicle, tablet, tools and phone provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned and reactive maintenance as required
  • Routine water hygiene monitoring including temperature testing (HSG 274, HTM 04-01), tank and pipework inspections, sampling, shower clean and disinfections, flushing of expansion vessels, TMV maintenance, minor plumbing tasks
  • Basic building inspections/operational checks (emergency lights, fire extinguishers, weekly fire alarm testing)
  • Health & Safety duties following risk assessments and method statements
  • Liaising with customers, supporting other areas, keeping up with regulations, checking paperwork

Requirements

Essential: Enhanced DBS check, City and Guilds accreditation (ACOP L8, HSG274, HTM 04-1), good understanding of hot and cold-water systems, full UK driving license, positive attitude, computer literate, organisational skills, flexible outlook, working knowledge of Health & Safety. Desirable: First aid at work trained, trade background or building knowledge, NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
