Assistant Cafe Manager, Full Time

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] – Stratfield Saye (Hampshire/Berkshire border) is hiring an experienced Assistant Cafe Manager for a full-time, permanent role. You'll lead daytime café operations with no evening shifts, supervising a team of up to 20 staff, and ensuring excellent customer service and food safety standards.

The Role

You'll work closely with the Café Manager to lead daily operations in a high-volume café and restaurant setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Running shifts and overseeing front of house service
  • Supervising and motivating a team of up to 20 hospitality staff
  • Delivering excellent customer service
  • Supporting staff training and development
  • Managing bookings and cash handling
  • Working collaboratively with the kitchen team
  • Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader, Duty Manager or Assistant Manager within a café, restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Experience managing or supporting larger teams
  • Calm under pressure in a busy food service environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proactive, positive and professional approach
  • Good working knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Basic IT confidence (Excel and booking systems)
