Head of Inclusive Learning
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Head of Inclusive Learning to lead the SEND department, act as Senior School SENCo, and hold strategic responsibility for ensuring consistently high-quality provision for all pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. This full-time role starts September 2026.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and management of the SEND department, acting as nominated Senior School SENCo.
- Strategic oversight of SEND provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
- Collaboration with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Deputy Head Academic, Mental Health Lead, Heads of Department, and Heads of Year.
- Promoting meaningful participation of pupils with SEND in co-curricular activities and across the curriculum.
- Overseeing transition of pupils with SEND from Junior to Senior School and supporting sixth form students.
- Managing exam access arrangements and working with the Exams Officer.
- Building relationships with external agencies such as Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists.
- Monitoring and reporting on SEND pupil progress using data and teacher feedback.
- Managing the SEND department budget and procurement of specialist resources.
Person Specification
- Qualified teaching status (QTS) - Essential
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to undertake - Essential
- Significant experience of SEND leadership - Essential
- Experience of leading a SEND department and managing a team - Essential
- In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation including Equality Act 2010 and JCQ regulations - Essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working with parents, agencies and colleagues - Essential
- Ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage teams - Essential
- Safeguarding training (DSL) - Desirable
