Consultant ENT Surgeon – Otology (Ears)

Location: Southampton | Job Type: Permanent (Full-Time / Part-Time Considered)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant ENT Surgeon specialising predominantly in ear surgery (Otology) to join a leading Private Hospital in Southampton.

You will become a highly valued member of a multidisciplinary clinical team, contributing your specialist expertise in ENT, with a strong focus on major ear procedures. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped hospital environment delivering high-quality care to both NHS and privately funded patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of ENT surgical procedures in line with hospital protocols and best practice
  • Manage patients throughout their surgical journey, including outpatient clinics, pre-operative assessment, and post-operative care
  • Deliver high standards of clinical care and patient outcomes
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Spend the equivalent of at least 3 days per week in theatre (full-time equivalent)

Scope of Procedures

Minor Ear Procedures: Excision of lesions

Major Ear Procedures: Tympanoplasty, Mastoidectomy, Additional complex otological surgeries (depending on experience)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong clinical expertise across all aspects of ENT surgery, with a focus on otology
  • Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across a wide range of ENT conditions
  • Full GMC Registration with entry on the Specialist Register
  • FRCS (ENT) or equivalent specialist qualification
  • CCT (or equivalent) in ENT
  • Proven record of clinical excellence and academic achievement
  • Evidence of recent experience (last 3 years), including case volumes and outcomes
