Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon – Lower Limb

Location: Plymouth | Salary: Up to £144,000 | Permanent Full-Time

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Lower Limb procedures to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary medical team in a modern private hospital in Plymouth. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality surgical care within a well-equipped environment, supporting NHS, private, and insured patients. The organisation is committed to patient safety, clinical excellence, and positive outcomes, providing planned surgical care across a wide range of specialties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver orthopaedic surgical procedures, with a focus on lower limb cases
  • Conduct outpatient clinics and day-case surgery
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical outcomes
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement

Working Pattern

Full-time (40 hours per week). Flexible rota, primarily Monday to Saturday.

Requirements

  • UK registerable medical degree
  • GMC Specialist Registration (or eligibility) in Orthopaedics
  • FRCS (Orth) or European equivalent
  • Proven track record of clinical and academic achievement
  • Strong commitment to high-quality patient care
