About the role

The Commercial Growth Initiatives (CGI) Team is responsible for the strategic development, execution, and ongoing optimisation of trading campaigns, sales incentives, and promotional activation activities. These initiatives support the delivery of the wider commercial strategy by driving revenue, improving margin, and increasing customer engagement.

The Growth Activation Executive plays a key supporting role in delivering the CGI strategy. Working closely with the Growth Activation Manager, this role ensures that campaigns and promotional activities are executed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Key objectives include:

  • Supporting the creation and delivery of promotional publications and campaign materials
  • Ensuring product data, imagery, and descriptions are accurate and consistent
  • Liaising with Buying and Category teams to obtain promotional details within deadlines
  • Assisting in campaign plans and communication strategies
  • Maintaining KPI trackers to monitor overall commercial performance

Accountabilities:

  • Campaign Support – Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of CGI campaigns across allocated categories or business areas.
  • Stakeholder Coordination – Work closely with Buying, Category, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure all campaign elements are aligned and delivered to agreed timelines.
  • Communications – Support the implementation of campaign communications across internal channels and marketing platforms. Adapt messaging and tone to suit different audiences, ensuring clarity of instruction and measurable outcomes.
  • Promotions Management – Support the end-to-end promotional process, including maintaining promotional calendars, coordinating buying briefings, validating promotional content, and ensuring accuracy of pricing and product information. Contribute to continuous improvement through feedback and process optimisation.
  • Campaign Activation – Support activation plans using a mix of online and offline channels, including marketing collateral, sales tools, and incentive schemes.
  • Project Delivery – Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure campaign and activation projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.
  • Competitor & Market Analysis – Monitor competitor activity and external market trends to inform campaign positioning and ensure differentiation. Use insights to enhance engagement and campaign effectiveness.
  • Data & Reporting – Maintain accurate KPI trackers and support analysis of campaign performance, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
  • Content Accuracy & Quality Control – Ensure all campaign materials, including promotional publications, are error-free, consistent, and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, streamline processes, and enhance collaboration across teams.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and alignment with wider business priorities.
  • Administrative Support – Provide general administrative support to the CGI team, ensuring documentation, trackers, and timelines are kept up to date.
  • Health and Safety Accountabilities: Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, Support the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation process, Follow all verbal and written Health & Safety instructions, Attend required Health & Safety training sessions.
