Role Overview

We are seeking a horticultural production operative to join us. The role will involve all duties concerned in the production and delivery of specimen trees and plants. We are looking for dynamic team players who demonstrate a willingness to learn, an excellent work ethic and a commitment to our values of professionalism, enthusiasm, commitment and efficiency. The candidate for this role will be self-motivated, reliable, proficient and able to show initiative and creativity. The position involves working outside in inclement weather conditions, so a love of the outdoors is essential. Whilst previous experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial, full training would be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing trees for dispatch.
  • Operating agricultural vehicles & equipment.
  • Planting and Potting Stock.
  • Positioning large trees.
  • Loading / unloading vehicles.
  • Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Soil Preparation.
  • Pesticide/Herbicide Control.
  • Pruning and tying trees.
  • Maintaining good environmental standards and plant biosecurity.
  • Maintaining good standards of Health and Safety.

Desirable Skills

  • A full driver's license is essential
  • PA1 & PA6 (pesticide training)
  • PA3 (spraying training)
  • Good tree identification/knowledge
  • Experience operating tractors, trailers, front loaders, telehandlers
