Emergency Care Assistant - FREC 4 - National

Job Summary

  • Transport, assess and attend to patients in accordance with policies and procedures, including pre-hospital emergency care.
  • Accurately complete all documentation relating to patients, vehicles and equipment and submit to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] management.
  • Provide treatment up to post-holder’s assessed ability in line with current best practice (IHCD & JRCALC).
  • Take relevant information from carers and report to healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
  • Drive vehicles legally and in accordance with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] driving policy.
  • Carry out vehicle and equipment checks each shift.
  • When working with a Patient Transport Attendant, act as senior team member.
  • Achieve and maintain competence in relevant skills and engage in CPD.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Must hold a valid FREC 4 qualification
  • Must hold a full UK manual driving licence with max 6 points
  • Minimum 12 months driving experience since holding UK driver's licence
  • Physically fit
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete clinical documentation
  • Ability to work in emergency ambulance environment
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time
  • Commitment to high-quality patient experience
  • Teamwork and initiative
  • Willingness to learn new skills

Desirable

  • Minimum 6 months frontline experience post qualification
  • Level 3 CERAD qualification
