Role Summary
The HR Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day HR operations and supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and embed HR practices within a growing team. The company is at a dynamic stage—large enough to require structure and proactive people strategy, yet small enough for HR to have a direct impact on culture and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all HR queries, providing accurate and timely advice to employees and managers.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle: contracts, onboarding, changes to terms, promotions, leavers, and offboarding.
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes in partnership with the Chief of Staff.
- Support managers in applying HR processes consistently (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management).
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR.
- Support wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement initiatives.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics.
- Own and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance.
- Support health & safety compliance.
- Help design and deliver training programmes.
- Maintain and optimise HR system (Citation/Atlas).
- Assist with compensation, benefits, and incentive administration.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: 3–5 years in HR, preferably in a generalist role. Hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance. Ideally in a fast-growing SME or start-up.
Qualifications: Level 3–5 CIPD (not essential but clear experience required). Strong IT literacy, especially HR systems, Excel, and reporting tools.
Nice to have: Experience with health & safety compliance.
