Relief Support Practitioner – Scottish Borders

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking Relief Support Practitioners to join established teams in the Scottish Borders. Salary: £13.75 per hour. Job type: Relief. Location: Scottish Borders (Melrose and Galashiels).

Job Description

We are now recruiting for Relief Support Practitioners to join our established teams in the Scottish Borders.

If you’re good at seeing people as unique individuals with their own skills, opinions, and dreams then we currently have an exciting relief opportunity to join our services based in the Scottish Borders.

Our service provides specialist support to people experiencing mental ill health in both Melrose and Galashiels. We support people throughout their recovery journey; overcoming challenges, celebrating achievements and empowering people to create a fulfilling life in a person-centred way.

Our Relief Support Practitioner role allows you to have the flexibility to pick and choose shifts around other commitments you may have in your life. All we ask is that you are able to complete your training requirements and work with us on a regular basis. Some examples of the shifts are 8.30am to 4.30pm, 9am to 5pm and 1pm to 9pm. We also have sleepover shifts, weekend working and waking night shifts.

As a Relief Support Practitioner, you will support people with all aspects of daily living at home and in their communities. You will assist people with planning for their future and prevent the effects of social isolation and loneliness in their lives.

Whilst experience is always welcome, full training is provided alongside regular support and supervision from your Service Manager. The right values and motivation are essential; honesty, respect, empathy and compassion are key skills that are required in people who join our teams.

We welcome applications from any candidates already eligible to work in the UK or those that can apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. dependent visas, ancestry etc.) that do not require sponsorship from [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. You will be asked to share proof of this prior to receiving any offer of employment. It is currently our policy not to offer sponsorship for prospective candidates.
