Sales Assistant – Fareham

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Sales Assistant for their Fareham store. This permanent part-time role offers NMW/NLW and involves delivering outstanding customer service, maximising sales, and maintaining store standards. Reporting to the Store Manager / Assistant Manager.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Create a friendly, welcoming and professional atmosphere for customers to shop in
  • Greet customers, be approachable and thank them for their custom
  • Spend time with customers, if appropriate, ensuring they have received all and any help required
  • Provide a safe environment for team members and customers, adhering to Company Health And Safety policy
  • Promote marketing initiatives such as “Upsell products” or vouchers

Sales

  • Work with store management to maximise sales and offer constructive ideas
  • Operate a till adhering to Company guidelines for tills and cash handling

People

  • Read and adhere to all Company procedures
  • Treat all team members courteously and professionally
  • Keep staff areas clean, tidy and safe
  • Help train new team members in procedures and policies

Product

  • Merchandise and display stock per Company instructions
  • Minimise stock loss through theft and damages by being vigilant
  • Give feedback on customer product requests
  • Keep displays fully stocked, neat, tidy and clean
  • Maintain high merchandising standards
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and storage of stock
  • Assist with stock room maintenance and stocktakes

General

  • Undertake any reasonable requests from management in line with business demand
