Registered Veterinary Nurse

The role involves delivering high-standard nursing care, assisting veterinary surgeons, supporting student nurses, conducting nurse clinics, maintaining stock control and patient records, and performing reception duties. The ideal candidate is RCVS registered and committed to CPD.

Job Details

  • Reporting to: Practice Manager via Head Nurse
  • Role Type: Part-time, 32 hours per week (Monday to Saturday shifts between 8:15am-7pm; Saturdays 8:30am-1pm)

General Duties

  • Ensure familiarity and adherence to the RCVS Code of Professional Conduct
  • Maintain up-to-date RCVS registration
  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons in line with Schedule 3
  • Support nursing assistants and student veterinary nurses (Clinical Coaching certificate advantageous/willingness to train required)
  • Maintain cleaning regimes and stock control
  • Perform reception duties and client admissions/discharges
  • Carry out Nurse clinics and appointments
  • Advise clients on pet healthcare
  • Complete 15 hours CPD per year (RCVS requirements)
  • Reflect on own performance and maintain competence

Additional Information

As part of the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you may be required to support other branches (Congleton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Biddulph). You will join a team of 3 vets, 5 nurses, a Practice Coordinator, and 4 reception/administrators. Consultations operate to 15-minute slots.
